What to do if the worm gear reducer leaks oil

Release Date: 2018-09-29 Hits:
Worm gear reducerGenerally, metal is used as the worm gear, and harder steel is used as the worm, which can greatly improve the working efficiency of the worm gear reducer. Why does the reducer leak oil: Because the machine is a sliding friction drive, it will generate a lot of heat during operation. Due to the heat, the thermal expansion of the machine’s parts and seals is different, which makes the mating surfaces If there is a gap between them, the oil will be thinned due to high temperature, which will cause leakage?

How to deal with such a leakage situation correctly?
   1. For lubricating oil and additives, 220# gear oil is generally used. For reducers with heavy loads, frequent starts, and poor use environments, some lubricating oil additives can be selected to make the gear oil still adhere to the gear surface when the reducer is stopped. , To form a protective film to prevent heavy load, low speed, high torque and direct contact between metals when starting. The additives contain seal ring regulator and anti-leakage agent to keep the seal ring soft and elastic and effectively reduce lubricating oil leakage.
   2. When disassembling and installing the parts of the reducer, try to avoid hitting with hammers and other tools; when replacing gears and worm gears, try to use original parts and replace them in pairs; when assembling the output shaft, pay attention to tolerances; Adhesive or red lead oil protects the hollow shaft, prevents abrasion, rust, or dirt on the mating area, and is difficult to disassemble during maintenance.
